Governance Professional

The Role

EMAT are currently recruiting for a Governance Professional (Local Advisory Boards) to drive the crucial overall success of local governance as an essential and integral part of the Trust Governance team. This is an exciting new role within our community of seven schools.

General Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide effective administrative and organisational support to the Local Advisory Boards (LAB) including minute taking for all LAB meetings.
• Provide advice to the Local Advisory Boards on governance, constitutional and procedural matters.
• Ensure the Local Advisory Boards are properly constituted.by monitoring membership and terms of office.
• Managing information and documentation effectively in accordance with legal and trust requirements.
• Provide clerking services to any statutory appeal committee or panel the local advisory board is required to convene
• Conduct annual skills audits with support from the central team governance staff
• Perform other tasks as may be determined by the local advisory board from time to time

Flexible working hours are required as weekly requirements for this role may differ, this includes being required for longer or shorter weeks and also available for evening meetings. This is an annualised hours contract role of 250 hours and pays £3,875 per year
