Prince William School requires a Cover Supervisor to supervise classes for absent teaching staff. When not needed to cover absent colleagues, they may be required to do other tasks such as intervention work with small groups of students withdrawn from a class. The successful candidate will be resilient and resourceful, understand how to manage teenage behaviours, and be able to ‘think on their feet’.
Many staff use the experience of working as a cover supervisor as a stepping-stone into teaching or other related fields of work involving working with young people. Our current cover supervisors all have some ‘timetabled’ lessons for which they take full responsibility and for which they are paid at an unqualified teacher rate, and a willingness to do this would be an advantage.
Experience of working with young people is essential, and experience of working in a school environment is desirable. Experience of leading a class of children is not essential as training will be provided.
Prince William School is located in Oundle, within easy commuting distance of Peterborough, Stamford, Wellingborough, and Corby, and is judged to be ‘Good’ by Ofsted. It is a vibrant and friendly school with enthusiastic, well-behaved students who are eager to achieve the best they can. Our staff are positive and enthusiastic professionals who work together as a whole team, united in our commitment to provide the very best for our students.
